NABERS UK: Guide to Design for Performance Version 1.1

The Design for Performance (DfP) Guide provides guidance on how to model, assess and manage a building’s operational energy performance throughout the design, construction and early operation stages using the NABERS framework. It covers topics such as energy modelling assumptions, occupancy and equipment profiles, HVAC operation, controls, metering, performance risks and post-occupancy verification.

While developed to support NABERS ratings, it is also a valuable reference for building physicists, providing good-practice guidance for developing realistic energy models, selecting appropriate operational assumptions and reducing the gap between predicted and actual energy performance.
